Probably, this is the first of its kind in a Bluetooth speaker with a turtle shell design that looks magnificent on the table. It really rocks as if you have a sub-woofer speaker in your room.

When it comes to the quality of sound, it is crisp and clear with decent bass. The decibels of this speaker are loud enough to fill your room with music.

The built-in microphone of this speaker enables you to take or receive hands free calls. Once you pair with this device, it automatically pairs the next time. As long as your phone has the signal, you can always have hands free calls anywhere.

The rugged design of this speaker is very comfortable to hold with a single hand. In addition to that, the manufacturer provides two grab handles at the sides of the speaker. You can mount it easily on almost anything.

This wireless Bluetooth speaker comes with the latest version 4.0, which is more efficient in power consumption and covers a wider range at 32 feet when most of the other speakers have thirty feet.

Pairing with this device has never been easier with NFC technology. Al l you have to do is just keep your device near the speaker and Big Turtle Shell automatically appears on your screen. The moment you select it, music begins.

Advantages of Outdoor Tech Turtle OT4200 Shell

It is a splash proof or water resistant speaker, which means you have the least worry for damage cause by the elements. Unless you submerge the speaker completely under water, it is always safe.

It is quite user friendly with clear signs for Pause, Play, Forward, Backward and Call buttons at the side of the speaker. Moreover, pairing is very easy with NFC technology as well as Bluetooth transmitter.

The unique design is very comfortable to hold in a single hand and it has an impressive, sturdy looks. If you have seen a turtle, that’s the look of it.

The power bank is always an advantage when your gadgets are running out of battery. It has the capability to charge two or three phones with a single charge even after hours of listening to music.

Some Downsides of this Speaker

The manufacturer claims to have 110 decibels but it is less than what it claims. However, it is loud enough to fill the space with music. The bass is good but not excellent compared with Jam box or Beats XL.

The device seems to get confused when more than one Bluetooth transmitter is nearby, so the music often skips which is rather upsetting when one is enjoying the music. When such circumstances arise, keep your smartphone or the Bluetooth enabled gadget that you are using closer to the speaker. This is not a very small speaker yet quite portable.

Why I Chose Big Turtle Shell Speaker

The rugged sturdy look of Outdoor Tech OT4200 Big Turtle Shell is unique and so, I choose this speaker. Moreover, I live in a place where power supply and weather conditions are unpredictable. This speaker has 7800 mAh battery backup that I can also use as a power bank in case my phone runs out of battery. It is water resistant and so, even if rainwater splash on it, there is no problem. The sound quality is decent and though there are  better sounding options than this speaker, they are not water resistant.. I have used it for about three months now and I have taken it along with me in my camping trips on many occasions without any problem even in harsh weather conditions. Though it is a little pricey, the money you spend for its features is worth it. Considering the features I got from this turtle, I can’t help but fall in love with it.
