After seemingly finding his stride (pun 100% intended) yesterday, Chien-Ming Wang came up lame rounding third in the Yankees’ rout of the abysmal Astros. Before that, Wang looked like the pitcher who had 38 wins in his first two seasons, looked like he was settling down and gaining confidence… and then, he looked like Nancy Kerrigan after Jeff Gillooly took a tire-iron to her leg. If Big Brown gave us any indication of what can happen if you mistakenly think a foot injury has healed correctly and quickly, we better be shopping for another starter real quick, ’cause 10-12 weeks basically means the rest of the season. And that being the case, B-Ca$h best remember that we don’t need to be bringing in any 35-plus-year-olds to get the job done. I guess the good news is that we won’t have to put Wang down if he can’t make it back before September.
