Are Met fans freaking out yet?

Mr. Met I still think this thing is going to go down, but the Santana deal is no longer a sure thing as of today. Alright humor me here– if this thing really does blow up in Omar Minaya’s face, will the Mets ever be able to bounce back from all that’s happened in the last six months? First you complete one of the most historic choke jobs in MLB history, and then you trade for baseball’s best pitcher to prevent that from ever happening again… only to find out he’ll never actually wear a Mets uniform??? I mean this would instantly put them in New York Knicks territory, if they aren’t there already. Granted this is all speculative at this point, but for a such a “sure thing,” the Santana trade is looking awfully tenuous right about now.

So what you’re saying is, instead of Mets fans holding up banners saying “We Believe” it could very well be “We BEgyounottoLEAVE?” It’s a stretch I know but, then again, what is the point of a sports blog if not to be an opinionated smart ass who gets their jollies off cracking on that “other team” from Queens.

And since politics was mentioned recently…why does Mr. Mets’ round face remind me of John McCain’s cheeks? Furthermore…McCain’s wife..she’s kinda got it going on, she doesn’t have that “I married my cousin” hotness that Rudy had going on, but nonetheless…I could crack on the Dems too, so I don’t want responses that are intellectually based coming my way with party platforms as foundations.

If I may, I would also like to touch on Plexico’s prediction: Your name is Plexico, which can easily be confused with a manufacturer of an anlternative material to glass. The only thing you should predict was when you were old enough to understand your name and then realize that once you got to school, you were gonna be the kid who replaced Chester as the kid to be picked on and beat up…that being said, I’m still rooting for the Giants…by ANY amount of points.

Counting down the hours until the Mrs. McCain/President Clinton affair is uncovered… the McCain’s cheeks thing is priceless, btw
